Seeing my mom visit the dental clinic often for oral issues, it made me value the role of a dentist more. The confidence she gained and the relationship they established throughout the years made me really want to become a dentist. I realized how important preventative oral health is and want to bring that message to people especially for younger kids. I am looking forward to give people a better smile and be as confident as they can be!

My interest in dentistry started at a young age, as I saw both my parents practice in the profession. I was fascinated to observe nervous patients walk in and confident, smiling patients emerge. Over the years, I have become fascinated with dental implants and narrowed my interests towards cosmetic dentistry. I am looking forward to being able to create artful smiles and happy, confident patients one day too!

Dentistry has always been a large part of my life! My mom has been a practicing dentist for the past 20 years and hearing all her interesting stories from the clinic always captivated me. Most recently I have become interested in oral surgery with focus on providing treatments to individuals who have been victims of gender based violence.

My passion for dentistry started at a young age and has continued to flourish over the years. I am a mature student with eight years of experience working in the dental field as a dental assistant. After working as a dental assistant in Canada for one year I travelled to New Zealand, Australia, and Europe to gain knowledge and work experience as a dental assistant in different countries. Through my wide range of experiences in the dental field I have learned why I am committed to becoming a dentist, furthering my career and why I am interested in continuing my education by completing my undergrad to attend dental school.

Immigrating to a new country and seeing the vast amount of opportunities presented was the biggest inspiration. Along with this came my orthodontist visits that changed my smile and career choice forever. I was aware that I enjoyed learning through application and that cosmetics was a big part of my life, so joining the two together in a dental clinic to create beautiful smiles in the future will surely help me to fulfill my purpose. Using an upstream approach with preventative measures will not only allow the future of our oral hygiene to be bright but also our teeth!

As a child my experience at the dentist was always unpleasant. I had inherently bad teeth with numerous cavities every year. I despised the dental office and paid little attention to my oral hygiene. Although, due to my interest in sciences and strong manual and dexterity skills, dentistry is the perfect career for me. My mission is to become a paediatric dentist and make sure that every child in my office looks forward to seeing the dentist. With this in mind, no patient in my practice will feel as I did when I was a child.

Growing up, I picked up a lot of creative hobbies like painting and baking, that made me realize I enjoy working with my hands. Ever since, I knew I wanted to pursue a career that allowed me to use my hands and creativity in my everyday work. My passion for dentistry began at the orthodontist, where I witnessed all of my insecurities vanish after my braces treatment. I was fascinated by the impact this treatment had on my confidence. Hvaing had the opportunity to shadow at a dental clinic, I was able to observe patients walk out of the clinic with the same confidence I gained. I look forward to one day be able to put a smile on my patinets faces, one tooth at a time!

Growing up, I was always very self conscious of my smile, because of how crooked my teeth were. Over the course of having braces for several years, I was able to gain more confidence through the procedures my orthodontist was performing. I was inspired by how much more confident I became with my new smile, and became fascinated with orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry. I look forward to helping others gain confidence through creating beautiful smiles!

Imagine being only 8 years old and having all your teeth knocked out because of a freak accident. Well, that's exactly the position I was in and I can say that, in hindsight, it was a rewarding experience. I realized there was a profession out there which could combine my desire to work with my hands while still making a difference in peoples lives - dentistry. Dentistry is a profession which enables me to learn kinaesthetically while creating something beautiful - healthy, happy smiles!

Working with patients long term to transform their smiles and being present for every step of the journey is one of the many aspects of dentistry that inspired me to pursue a career in the field.I hope to one day give others a healthy and beautiful smile!
